Why I Started KKAMB Fit

Fitness is a routine part of my life. I strategically plan my week with movement and my health in mind. It wasn’t always this way. . .There was a time in my life where I didn’t think about my health at all. My only concern was instant gratification, without thought to the consequences of my actions. I would eat an endless amount of empty calories, pull all-nighters to study for exams, fuel those all-nighters with sugar-filled energy drinks, ignore my stress and anxiety, and I wondered why I gained weight and felt like garbage every day. After gaining a significant amount of weight, I looked for quick fixes. I would fast all day, then binge on junk food at night until I felt like I was going to bust. Then I would wake up the next morning and do hours of cardio and sit in the sauna to try and off-set the “damage” I had done the night before. I became sick and depressed. This cycle continued for years.

At a certain point, I became fed up. I decided to hire a coach who taught me about macros and weight training, fueling my body for my workouts, and about the influence of recovery. Once I started weight-training, I fell completely in love. I lost weight, but it wasn’t a struggle like it was when I tried doing it with a quick fix. Every day, I felt happier, more confident, stronger, less stressed. I decided that I wanted to help others feel this way about themselves. For the last 10 years, I have spent countless hours researching the healthiest and most effective ways to achieve body recomposition, gut health, endurance, strength and a positive mental health state. I became a certified personal trainer and helped hundreds of clients-young and old-to achieve their health and fitness goals! I studied psychology and got my nursing degree! I have been working as a registered nurse for the last 4 years in telemetry, ICU, and now rapid response and I am currently finishing my doctorate degree in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.

Accomplishing a majority of my career goals has been so rewarding, but I have always had another dream in the forefront of my mind. I’ve dreamed of creating a business that would allow me to share the methods that have worked for me with as many people as I could reach. I’ve dreamed of helping others who are lost, sick, tired, struggling to discover their true potential and create a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable, achievable, and enjoyable. I have spent years developing my skills in nursing and personal training, and studying health, illness, wellness, nutrition, fitness and progressive overload. It didn’t feel right to have this knowledge these skills and not find a way to share this with others.

And thus KKAMB Fit was born! I started this company to create a community of confident, strong, and healthy people who want to encourage one another in their health and fitness journeys. Everyone’s journey is different, and I truly want to help support you in every step. I created the 12 Week Get Fit Program and 6 Week Home Guide based entirely off of how I have worked out and trained clients for years and seen the most success.

So where do we go from here? I have so many other ideas, and I can’t wait to share them with you! I have a really exciting project in the making right now that will be released this Spring, and you don’t want to miss it :)
